The textbok loner Kohaku has one goal at her new school: to find a new friendgroup s as to not end up alone during the school trip. When trying to make friends though, she accidentally joins a group of friends with a very peculiar dynamic...
While Kohaku is the first character you meet while reading, I wouldn't really call her the protagonist since the story is mainly about the vampire and her relationship with the other two. The vampire's wish to get murdered does kind of motivate the story, after all. That doesn't mean Kohaku doesn't receive any love at all; I liked her road to getting closer to everyone in the friendgroup and her growth as a person because of it. She is very similar to Gotoh Hitori from Bocchi The Rock, so a lot of the humor of the manga comes from her reacting awkwardly to social situations, but without causing second-hand embarassment (western comedy movies could really learn something here!). The manga sadly doesn't focus that much on GL except towards the ending, but still has some of it throughout the manga. I really like the way the vampire was drawn, especially her hair in some scenes. The ending was really sweet and kind of hopeful for a loner.
This is one of those short and sweet manga you can easily read in less than a week. The backstory of the vampire and the excorcist could have been a bit more fleshed out though.
