After reading her classmate Shizuku Hoshikawa's novel, Kaori Asaka starts going out with her so Hoshikawa doesn't stop writing. But little do these two know they each have their own secrets they don't want the other to find out.

Being a really famous and award-winning yuri, I was expecting a lot of it going into it, and I'm happy to say it lived up to the expectations. After reading the first few chapters, I was expecting a classic story of extrovert adopts introvert, but it turned ot to be a lot more than that. It didn't shy away from talking about pretty heavy subjects such as loss and guilt while illustrating them beautifully with striking imagery. The way the characters and their worries and inner conflicts were written made it very easy to sympathise with them and their growth over the course of the manga was built up very well. Even though I was also a victim of bullying, I couldn't help but cheer for Hoshikawa despite what she had done. I also really liked the way Hoshikawa's road to forgiveness and self-acceptance was written. You can try to apologize for your past actions, but that doesn't mean you will be forgiven for them. My only criticism would be that it doesnt really give the characters a lot of room to breathe. I get that it's supposed to be that way, it's a tragedy after all, but I would have appreciated it if there were some more chapters for just general romance or slice of life stuff. This is a very personal grievance of course, but my reviews are supposed to be personal after all.

This manga really deserves all the praise it gets, I really recommend this one, even if you aren't that much into yuri. Were it not for my one complaint, this would have been a 5/5 rating.
