Beauty and the Beast Girl is about a lonely monstergirl that lives alone in the woods, when one day, she encounters a blind woman on a trip through the forest. The two become friends, although the monster tries to hide that she isn't human, especially after she learns that she was the one who caused the woman's blindness.

Even though this manga starts with a really interesting premise and manages to somewhat build off of it, barely anything of note happens, especially considering it has 50 chapters. The themes the manga talks about - handling guilt and accepting otherness in society - are interesting and the romance between the two main characters is really sweet, but a lot of pages are just drawings of the main pairing the author published on their socials. And although those drawings are really cute, they don't add anything to the story. I did like the side characters though, they were well written and well designed, you can tell the author likes to draw monster girls with how cool these came out. The ending was a bit unexpectedly heavy (similar to Flan wants to die) but nonetheless managed to end the manga well.

All in all, this manga had a really good beginning but didn't manage to capitalize on it as well as I had expected. It's certainly worth a read, but don't expect too much out of it.
